Agnieszka Zalejska Jonsson is a researcher in Building and Real Estate Economics and has a special interest in sustainability and property management. She is now excited to join the innovative environment of KTH Live-In Lab as a co-director.

Hello Agnieszka and welcome to KTH Live-In Lab! What will you be doing in your new role as co-director of KTH Live-In Lab?

Thank you. This is really exciting. I am looking forward to being part of and supporting new collaborations, research and development projects as well as creating space for students and teachers. KTH Live-In Lab offers a physical space where we can learn about the building infrastructure and materials as much as we learn about human behavior. I am excited to create a virtual version of that space and for the possibilities it can bring for research and education. I am also looking forward to working with the great KTH Live-In Lab team with Jonas, Davide, and Marco.

You are a researcher at the Division of Building and Real Estate Economics at KTH. Can you tell us a little about your previous work and research?

I have a great interest in sustainability, buildings, and property management. I study digital transformation in Real Estate industry and how digital advances are employed in the buildings and by property owners and management. I’m also very interested in customer’s and tenants’ choices.

In one of my projects, we examine attitudes and values of customers in the housing market. Together with Stockholm School of Economics and University of Technology Sydney, we study customers interest in, attitude towards and appreciation of green infrastructure. We are using experiments and VR simulation to test the willingness to pay for greenery surrounding housing development.

What is your vision for KTH Live-In Lab?

KTH Live-In Lab creates an innovative space for research and education as well as actively contributing to and supporting innovative and sustainable solutions. I believe that KTH Live in Lab have a significant role in shaping sustainable and smart cities, supporting innovative thinking, encouraging curiosity and collaboration.
